120 hours per academic year (105 core hours to be worked during term time and 15 additional hours to be worked during the holidays)
The Governors of Ashperton Primary Academy are seeking to appoint a Governance Professional to support governance at this successful Academy school as soon as possible. This role is critical to the effective operation of the Governing Body.
The main roles of the Governance Professional are to provide the Governors with administrative and organisational support and with guidance on governance, constitutional and procedural matters.
We are looking for a Governance Professional who has:
• experience of clerking in schools or academies or experience of school governance;
• a keen interest in supporting high standards of school governance;
• excellent administration and organisational skills and attention to detail;
• strong written and verbal communication skills;
• the ability to develop effective working relationships and to offer constructive challenge where appropriate; and
• proficient IT skills including uploading documents to the school website and email.

Working pattern
You would be required to attend 10 evening meetings per academic year, 4 Full Governing Body, 3 Finance, Resources & Audit Committee, and 3 Curriculum meetings plus an annual Members Meeting. The rest of the role can be done from home at your convenience.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE.
