Staunton-On-Wye Endowed Primary School is a nurturing, rural school which fosters a love of learning. We are proud of our eco-school status and strong music and arts practice. Children are encouraged to become happy, self-confident and inquisitive learners in order to achieve their full potential. We are looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with children across the school, who:

• Has the skills to plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for groups and classes across the school
• Is able to monitor, assess, record and report on pupil progress
• Meets High Level Teaching Assistant standards and has experience of working as a Teaching Assistant Level 3 or equivalent, with children with a range of needs
• Has a high standard of general education including competent numeracy and literacy skills
• Has high expectations of behaviour and strong positive behaviour management skills
• Has the ability to facilitate the pupils’ independent learning
• Has a good understanding of child development
• Has the ability to foster well-being and support a nurturing learning environment through relational and restorative practice
• Has an ability to work flexibly, confidentially, efficiently and with their own initiative.

Staunton on Wye Endowed Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check and further pre-employment checks will be conducted in accordance with KCSIE. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
